Otl Aicher, Waldi, the official mascot for the Munich 1972 Olympics
Aicher chose a “Dackel”, a dachshund, as the official mascot. It was not only a symbol of the Games but also important to the souvenir sales. The toy version of Waldi makes use of Aicher’s rainbow colour scheme
