Cadillac Coupe DeVille, 1959. The icon from the fifties with the largest tail fins and the unique ‘double rocket’ tail lights! It was a product of a team effort at General Motors (GM) under the leadership of legendary designer Harley Earl. Earl was the pioneer of tailfins and had introduced them as early as the 1948 Cadillac. By 1959, the tailfins reached their dramatic peak, symbolizing post-war optimism and the influence of the Space Age.
