Marcel Breuer, Breuer Cottage, Wellfleet, MA,1948-49
During the summer of 1948, Breuer planned a vacation cottage in Wellfleet, MA. for his friend György Kepes. He decided to build the same house for himself nearby at Williams Pond. Breuer originally envisioned a community of five to seven houses on the site but only three cottages were ever built. For decades, Breuer and his family spent at least part of the summer at the cottage.
