Johan Niegemann, Einladung zum Glocken, Schellen, Klingelfest. Bauhaus invitation for a metallic party, 1929.

“An invitation for one of the famous Bauhaus festivities, this one having “metal” as the theme and thus giving rise to such suggested costumes as tin soldier, zipper or gasometer for men, and radioactive substance, cow bell, or loose screw for the ladies. Among other forbidden disguises, guests are advised not to come as “bronze statues—Bavarian or otherwise.” Printed on metallic paper, the invitation also promises music by three bands, theatrical improvisations, and a hot and cold buffet. The last page shows departure times for trains to Dessau from all over Europe, including Moscow!”
